egads, the new job. Well, I simply love it. Most of the time I am working on my own, getting something or other finished or fixed.

I am learning a whol bunch of different products that the company sells. so there is a good amount of time that I am just hold up in my cube learning junk. that is very very cool, but I am sure it won't last.

I was sent to Texas for a week, and got stuck there for a Month, but I accomplished what three other technicians before me could not. I taught the people how to use the tool, instead of just showing up, fixing and leaving. So they are now doing for themselves and I got to move on to other things. yeah.

I am now getting asked for my thoughts on how things can be done in Call Master which I think is very very cool indeed. I even made some of the "old schoolers" here go "you did what?!?" that was fun.

So now I am being deployed on a few different projects that are going to bring me to Nebraska, wisconson, Toronto and North Carolina in the next five to six weeks, so it will be a busy time for me.


Congrats on the marriage and the car.

I keep trying to convince myself that I should trade my truck in for a Prius. I really should get a Prius, but everytime the sales man tells me that the car is worth paying full price for because I will be saving money I want to scream. Yes, I will be saving money, but if I then give it to you to sell me the car, I won't be saving any money now will I?

ugh. Ah, but its not really so bad when I travel, because I usally stay about a mile from whereever I am working. Yeah short commute.

Oh, and I get to work from home often. And I have a boss that really wants to keep us happy, so on my Birthday yesterday, he just sent me home. Nice.

How much do you drive? A Prius is iffy if you put a lot of mileage on it, because there's also the cost of replacing all the batteries every *mumble* thousand miles. If I had a Prius, I would have already had to shell out thousands for that for a few changes.

Please do not bring back Nebraska and hit me with it.

Don't forget the crazy amount of environmental damage caused by mining the nickel used for the batteries. There's an entire town in Ontario that's basically dead because of the nickel plant. Then that nickel gets shipped to China where it's built into batteries, then shipped... You get the idea... I understand that there's more environmental damage caused in the production of a Prius or a Camry than caused in the entire life of a Hummer H1.

I don't think the extra cost (Toyota has no fed incentive money) offsets the fuel savings.

But I'm just a geek with the toxiccamry.com domain name...
